Roar, I just read through this thread with an open mind, and Mark was not screwing you around, he was just trying to help. I remember when I joined a couple years ago, trying to figure things out with my '71 CT-1, he gave great advice, and I occasionally went the other way, and he questioned why. Sometimes it was because I hadn't thoroughly read his post, and I said that. Sometimes I just had to do it my way, because that's the way I am

By the way, I've also had problems with wires coming loose from my switch, and I've had to resolder it twice. The last time I ended up making a little bracket to clamp to the sheath, to hold it in place when the steering head turns. I clamped it under one of the switch mounting screws, and put a washer under the other screw so the switch would still be level. I don't have a picture of it, but it seems to be working well so far. From my understanding, these switches may have had some kind of strain relief originally, but my switch didn't look like it ever did.

When I looked at your picture, I think it was fairly apparent where the wires came loose from, and I hope you got them back in the right place now. But the bottom line is; take a breath, and don't take things personally, when it seems like someone that is giving advice may sound terse to you, when all they're doing is trying to be concise and help. Mark and others here have MANY years of experience, some going back to when these bikes were first built. Also keep in mind that communicating in written words like this doesn't always translate well, and sometimes we project our own feelings into what others are saying.
