. I will look into the LEDs. My main concern with riding the bike around town is the dim brake light. It maybe just compared to new bikes it looks really dim, so the LED would make since.

Replying to post #10.
So that comment interest me greatly as to why some have two source coils.
The initial main one then a smaller wound high speed coil.
But some models don't run that & use just the one source coil.
Can any difference be noted between the two systems.
My yz490 for ezample came with two coils but after various dramas i wont bore you with i ended up with just one main source coil & used a common cdi box off a yamy scooter or PW50 etc.
Still ripped my arms off just the same [490].
Two coil setup would have a red & a brown into the box.
Single coil uses a smaller simple cdi box with probably just a black/red in, plus the trigger coil white/red in both cases i'm thinking.
Wonder if the double trouble coils give more skope for timing variation through the revs. Thoughts?

Think some of the information was on my CT1-C restoration thread, which I can't find, so may have been archived, maybe MarkT can find it.
There's a few headlight solutions I've tried, one was replacing a blown sealed beam bulb with a 6v lead which was good for being seen, but not great at illuminating the road as the beam spread wasn't great. Search eBay for "AC DC 6V Xenon White 30SMD H4 LED Lamp Motorcycle Headlight Bulb High Low Beam" and that's the one I used. It did fail from vibrations as I do take the CT1-B off road.
If you are going to search for a 6v LED bulb make sure it's AC compatible.
Currently on my CT1-B I have a DT175MX (DT175 1978) aftermarket headlamp lens unit installed in the original headlamp, which is great as the bulbs are replaceable.
Here's a thread on that www.yamaha-enduros.com/index.php/forums/...mp-unit-from-yambits
Regarding the taillight bulb, just search Amazon or eBay for a 6v stop tail light bulb. Taillight is DC.
Hope this is helpful.
