Hello everyone. I’m getting ready to rebuild the forks on my 69’ DT-1B and I was curious about what parts I should plan on replacing. I have already ordered new oil seals and dust caps/covers. However I thought I would ask you all if there’s anything else I should be ready for before I dive into the process. I have never attempted to do this and don’t want to get into it and find out that I need other things. I realize that I probably sound stupid, but I would rather sound stupid than be unprepared for the rebuild. Are there any other rubber components or gaskets or anything else that will have perished that I should order before I start.

You should be good with only replacing fork seals and dust cap/covers. Unless you find something broken inside which is rare. There is a o-ring inside the outer nut that is not available from Yamaha but they are on E-bay if you need them or want to get them before rebuilding the forks. part # 156-23147-00-00
