Looks like the petcock gasket is not doing its job. There was a bit of residual oil in the tank after we cleaned it. We noticed this morning a small amount of oil where the petcock attaches. I then added a small amount of gasoline...it is seeping through as well.

The gasket does look to be available on Partzilla ($19

). To hopefully help with the apparent leak on the oil tank sight glass, I purchased some "gasket maker" substance. Do you think I could use this or should I just buy the gasket?

Oil sight glass is worth buying the gasket. Pretty much guaranteed to leak with a gasket maker since the area is already oil contaminated.

If you don't need a visually correct petcock, it's cheaper to buy a new Yamaha petcock for a Raptor/Grizzly/Warrior/Blaster, which looks different but fits just fine. $30-40 for a Yamaha one, or cheap knock offs go for $12. Rebuilding the original typically costs more by the time you replace the spring, gasket, and petcock to tank o ring.

As far as the petcock for a Grizzly and Big Bear etc, I would buy the Yamaha one. Learn from my mistake. I initially bought a knockoff that was about $12, and it leaked badly. The Yamaha one works perfectly. The on/off and reserve positions are a little bit different, but you get used to it.

So...you think we'd be pressing our luck with something like this? hvccycle.net/yamaha-enduro-fuel-petcock-...-00-214-24500-00-00/

For a Yamaha one, any recommendations on a site that sells them?

That $20 one from HVC may be fine, though it is tall. I think I looked at it and was concerned about how low it extended, for my CT-1. The $12 leaky one I bought is completely different, and HVC has a good reputation, so theirs may be fine.

This is where I bought the Yamaha one:

Xttps://www.ebay.com/itm/273949269559

Change the first X to an H (full eBay links won't post here)

BTW, that Yamaha petcock has a taller internal pickup than the original, so you'll hit reserve faster. I cut the tube down a bit to make it closer to stock, but you don't have to.

One more BTW. I just noticed the HVC one can be in 72mm, or 85mm. I didn't notice that before. I'd get the shorter one, if you order from them, but the shorter one is $50, so maybe the Yamaha one is the best option? :o)

AND ONE MORE BTW. The nipple on the Yamaha one is for 1/4" tubing, but my CT-1 has 5/16" tubing (and 5/16" nipple on the carb). Easily solved by running 5/16" tubing to the inline filter, then a short section of 1/4 from the filter to the petcock.

Now I'm done...

I’m leaning towards the Yamaha one you linked. With shipping, the shorter one from HVC will be over $60 when all is said and done. I assume the Yamaha comes with screws? Are any gaskets required for them?

The gaskets come with the Yamaha petcock, but no screws, so just reuse the old ones.
