Site Feature Challenged was created by RT1

I have been doing my best to research for any information regarding a successful changeover to 12v LED Headlight on RT / DT.
I'll be installing a VAPE system and I'm looking to upgrade the lighting at the same time.
Using search word(s) "LED Headlight" and "LED" gets me nothing but 1680 posts about every topic under the sun.
I must be doing something wrong, but what?
How do you conduct a successful search?
Or, can someone just tell me what will work?

Add more/different keywords. Also it's VERY helpful to put a phrase in quotes... otherwise you're searching for any post that has the letter sequence "led" (even within word!) or headlight.

Try "LED Headlight" WITH the quotes.

I'd try "headlight replacement" or "replacement headlight"... again WITH the quotes

Also, use the search button on the lower of the toolbars.

Thanks fellas!
Does the search bar only search within the category you're presently in, or does it search the entire site?
For instance, if I executed a search while on this post within GENERAL DISCUSSION, will it only search GENERAL DISCUSSION?

I don't know what search you're using but it makes me wonder... the "search forum" here has a box for "keywords" and a box for "user name" (if you want to search for posts by a specific person) at the top.

Right below that there is a section that lets you narrow down the search to specific dates or specific areas of the forum. Default is all categories. You can also specify other things like sort order.

If you aren't seeing these options, you might be using the wrong "search"... see Gr8uncleal's post above.

Pretty sure that it searches in all categories.

I've been using the search box that's at the top right of each page (just above the first posting on the page) within a particular thread subject... for instance would appear below "1967-71 Badge Bikes"

As Mark suggested, I tried using quotations and got a better result but I need to dig because given how long LED's have been around now and how many members there are I'd think that the subject has been covered and clearly spelled out by now. So far all I came up with was someone buying 1975 headlight trim ring and a Harley-Davidson lens.
I'm sure there's got to be a clearer and simpler path.
If at first you don't succeed, try, try, again

Stock headlight runs on AC, LED needs DC so very few posts on the topic.

With VAPE headlight will be DC but you have a LOT of power so no need to use LED.

TONS of posts on replacing stock headlight with various 5 3/4" headlights. Just need clips, no need for a new ring.

If they make LED headlights in 5 3/4", then pick one of those instead of a common 12v sealed beam or common 12v H4 reflector/lens and bulb. Done.

Thank you Mark!
My search turned up this old discussion regarding H4 conversion, which will be sufficient for what I wish to accomplish... and that's to be seen.

www.yamaha-enduros.com/index.php/forums/...&childforums=1&ids=1

Very helpful suggestions and using the info I gathered there, I ordered the following which should do the trick....

From Amazon:

From MikesXS:

I chose the Amazon means of purchase for the lens because I find that my local auto parts stores to be basically useless unless you're prepared to provide - year, make, model, trim package, exterior color, interior color, and cup holder locations

All I should need now is a H4 hi/low Halogen Bulb.

Onwards!

For what you’re doing, that works very well. The more very specific, related to cup hold locations, takes alot more looking and knowing a plastic bottom cup holder from a rubber one… I goof them up alot…
