Hi Guys, can you fit a filter to your oil pipe feed from the oil tank to the oil pump on a DT400B
I have a remote check valve fitted as the autolube one was caput.
the remote 1 cured the problem of the crankcase filling with 2T oil.
My issue is it started to take oil again, I removed the inline remote check valve and blew carb cleaner through it, now it passes oil all the time, so being me I tried to take it apart to clean it, result was I snapped the nipple off. So Ive had to order another 1 £28.00 from yamaha.
I was hoping to be able to fit a filter in the oil pipe to stop and gunge going through (I did wash out the tank when I painted it originally) but not sure what time and if this would cause a restriction for the oil

Yes, some members have fitted a filter in the oil feed line. There is an old thread somewhere, where a member posted a photo to show where in the hose he located it, to keep it all nice and tidy.

GFrench and DEET are members that come to my mind that may have posted on the filter.
