For some time now whenever I try to open the Search tab from the main menu nothing happens, it just goes to a blank page. Has anyone else had this issue ?

it was probably turned off...  that was not a "search forum" link.  It searched the Internet. 

Go to a forum page and look for "search forum" button across top or hover mouse over "Forum" on home page and go down menu that opens to "search forum"

The forum search page is buggy in that if you move mouse over a link without clicking it, the link evaporates and you need to refresh to get it back.
