The lock/key number.

Good locksmiths, including ebay sellers, can cut you a replacement/repro key if you supply them with that number, together with an approximate year of bike manufacture. If you're very lucky, you might find an original Yamaha key with that number on fleabay.

For those that would like a new, original Yamaha key, then have a look at the attached list of Yamaha codes for key number ranges.

CMSNL have some stocks of new blank keys, and Yamaha might even still produce them. The part numbers start 90890-558 and I am attaching a link to the CMSNL page which has these listed.

A bit of a downside is that the key will have the range code stamped on it, not the lock number. Saying that, the locksmith can probably stamp the key/lock number on the other side.

Search results for 90890-558 - page 1 (cmsnl.com)
