AT1 Ignition wiring harness was created by htw123hotmail

got a NOS ignition switch with keys for my 70 AT1 but the wiring harness for the bike has a male connector as does the wiring for the switch. I see the original switch was supposed to have a female connector. Any thoughts on how to make this work (both are 3 wire, same connector) without cutting the wires? Maybe there is an adapter available or some way I can make something?

Yes, photos would be useful.

You might have a 1971 AT1C (even though the plate on the frame might say manufacture date of 1971). See links below to CMSNL photos of the 1969 and 1970 switches.

As Ht1kid says, you can likely get the parts you need from Vintage Connections, either to make a link with females at both ends, or to correct the error on your switch. When buying the narrow spade connectors, male or female, make sure that they have the retaining 'tangs' on the underside.

Thanks, I think building a new connector is the way to go.
