Look in the tech library at the top of the page, you can find a shop manual that will give you all the specs for your bike, might be able to download an owners manual too.

Check out this one - you can see the number stamp in the second photo.

If I can't get hold of an original parts manual for a bike (usually a pdf download from a forum like this one), then I use CMSNL or Partzilla for part number look ups.

I THINK parts 32 and 33 on the exploded diagram on the CMSNL link keep the choke out.

I would be happy that the carb that came with your bike is the correct one - the second number could be a part supersession or a market variation.

Have you checked your VIN against the VIN tables to confirm the year model is 1974?  Carb 44360 is for 1974.

Carb number 44361 is for the 1975 DT175b

Very common to have title or registration with an incorrect model year...  some states used "year first sold" for the model year back then as just a few years earlier, many manufacturers, including Yamaha, didn't have a distinctive "model year"...  same model was sold for a few years.

Also, the bike has a manufacture date on the ID sticker on the steering head.  Almost all 1975 models were actually built in 1974 and this causes confusion as to model year as well.

Either way 44361 carb will work fine.

On the choke, just buy a new plunger assembly.  Often not worth trying to fix.  This "might" be the one you need.  www.nichecycle.com/ncs/mikuni/parts-by-c...reads-by-mikuni.html
