Another electrical question..... was created by Older than Dirt

Don't beat me up too bad, newby here.

Have a '79 GT80F. I put this in the main folder because this might pertain to others....

So, I basically want to make it like an MX80. Can I just remove the lighting coil? Unsolder it and chunk it? (not really, jk)

I want to do the simplest of wiring, just for spark and an emergency shutoff switch by the throttle.

Maybe someday down the road I might fix up a headlight. But not now.

No need to remove anything. In fact, it's probably not a great idea.

Simply leave the charging and headlight power wires coming out of the stator disconnected... which is exactly what Yamaha did on many MX models.
