Soot on front fender-still learning was created by Timcat

Hello, I noticed after rides on my 72'RT 360 there is soot on the rear of the front fender. Is this normal or due I need a new gasket, or should I be more concerned and this is a more serious issue? Thanks Tim

Not unusual. A new string gasket will make it better. Be sure to clean out the old one. You can take the manifold off and separate the inner piece from the outer but the 2 bolts are likely rusted in the cylinder. Easy to break them. The string gasket is available, I use 2 loops. It may still spit a little.
The hours spent riding my Enduros is not deducted from my life span.

I'd like to add to check and make sure it's not the head or base gasket leaking... but usually it's normal.
