pulled the exhaust pipe off last night and poured out a pint of 20 year old gas.so i could pull the head to replace the ring's.is there any thing i should do to the exhaust before putting it back on.

Do a search here about cleaning up exhaust or some such here. You’ll find it’s a common thing and many options to address it. I’ll second that it is a must do. You’ll be glad you did. Weigh it before and after to see. Good luck! I gotta go turn two pipes and baste them in the smoker..........
