Dt175 reed mod. was created by R@13

Hi all. I'm just about to finish cutting my carbon fiber reed paper and remembered I had read in a blog that enduronut did some sort of single petal reed mod, but it wasn't super descriptive. Do people just omit the slit between pedals? When I used to tune Mopeds, we would do more reed pedals for low end and two or even one for high end. Thickness plays into it too, if I remember correctly.
Is that mod something along those lines? I'll probably cut the slit out as per usual. Just curious if anyone has experimented with them.

I dont know why your carbon material has a slot between, Looks like there is no fiber inbeteen. But if there is a full single pedal will work better since more reed tip area is better and more sensitive to crankcase signal. When I do mods like this I also remove most of the bridge from the cage . Leave about 1/3 of it for support for the pedal in the center . Real small reed cages that arnt real wide I will remove all of it . The 175 to me is real small. I usually use .015 thick material. The are also different fiber weaves that determin its stifness. Where did you get your material?

I get molassi and polini reed carbon fiber from treatland.tv. I use the .30-.35 mil in Mopeds and .40 on the ct (Don't know how many thou that is off the top of my head)Now with DT top end. I've just been cutting exact duplicates of the metal reeds for the ct though. I might go back and take it some of that DT cage. I've got an extra.

I've got some .35 mil paper too. I think that's closer to the thickness you use. Maybe I'll try that for some single flappers. Thanks for the advice.

good old treats, use those guys for moped parts all the time. shipping to Canada blows but you can't beat the parts availability.

It's all good They're the only place I've been able to find reed paper by the sheet. I'll probably get more soon. The wife wants to get our Puch Pinto running again.
Now I'm off topic.
