Yamaha RT exhaust pipe was created by mike8162
I learned something new today on my RT1b and paid for it. Going off the parts diagram and crossover info on Partzilla it shows that all pipes are the same on tha '69 - '73 RT/DT bikes. I went down to a bike junkyard in town and picked up a real nice pipe for a great price. It came off of a '73 RT3. Blasted and painted it and installed it on the bike. Lots of you probably know where I am going. I went to put the heat shield on and come to find out the center mounts on the '69 - '71 heat shields are about an inch and a half closer to the rear. Well, I guess I will shelve it and look for another and chalk it up as a lesson learned.
Cheers

That's interesting thanks, & good info to have. Wish i could just go down to the junkyard & get a pipe, but just doesn't happen like that here damn it. Cheers.
