Is my fuel tank rust treated? was created by DToutbound

Hey guys!

My bike came with an inline fuel filter and there doesn't seem to have any rust pieces or residues in that filter. When I look inside the fuel tank, it seems to be coated red somehow, not orange-rust. Here's a picture of inside my fuel tank. In your experience, do you think it has been treated and coated? Is this red color normal for a 1977 DT250?

Thanks!

Looks like its "Red Kote ". If it was done correctly should be ok.
Thanks Mark

Thanks guys, really appreciated. It confirms what I thought. I looked up some pictures on google of "Red Koted" tanks and it's really similar so I guess that's what it is!

That's Red Kote for sure and it looks to be a good job at that. I just coated my tank with Red Kote after having to remove a layer of loose liner that a POV did. Mine is holding up great as my clear inline fuel filter is clear as can be.
