Headlight Clip Replacement Trick was created by Yamahamadingdong

If you replace the headlight on a 74-75 (and others I'm sure) Enduro, you can buy the regular easy to fit headlight....

but I went with a newer halogen lamp + bulb from Octane Lighting: www.octanelighting.com/kit5-3-4-motorcyc...tml?category_id=2948

It fits, but is a little wiggly because it is not exactly right for the housing.

Mine has one clip left (I think there were originally 3), but it didn't work right.

The mystical solution: Binder clips

Just take the metal ends off those black binder clips, pull them apart a little, and shove them under

See photos.

I cracked up when it worked. It's in there good enough to hold it by the plug and shake it around, and push it around trying to get it back into the housing with all the wires in the way!

The headlight clips (good reproductions) are available from MikesXS

www.mikesxs.net/yamaha-xs650-headlamp-w-clips-pk-5.html

IF it isn't one thing, it's another.

Good to know. The only one left in my headlight assembly (if there was ever more than 1), is super rusty and not so springy anymore.

The binderclip idea was discovered when I didn't feel like waiting more time to get this headlight back in. :D
