The shops here only have 12v LED 1157s and... I think 1156 was the taillight. Maybe I searched poorly for 6v ones or misread what I was looking at.

In any event, I was hoping to get LED taillights working so I had more running light/brake light action going on too. I THINK the tail light acts as a running light because of laws, but I could be wrong, and the battery is dead/not wired up so I can't check at the moment.

These are the blinkers I ended up with:
www.kuryakyn.com/products/6149/kuryakyn-...jEAAYASAAEgLB2_D_BwE

They are 12v but fit perfect on the struts, and match the bike really well. They don't seem to make 6V in any of the better LED options, if at all.

I don't think I saw any running/brake/blinker combos in 6V in any design at all.

I'm sure I have a pair of new aftermarket chrome ones and a regulator... let me dig them out and send you some pictures later today... I have some stuff I need to finish this morning.

That would be great. If not, the ones devin listed have actually been in my bookmarks. Since they were only blinkers,I held off to try finding fancy stuff.

I think i might need to give up on having fancy running/brake/blinkering. I might get lucky on the blinkers and get away with 12v ones I got on a 6v system. Maybe. Supposedly they dont draw much power.

Amber is fine though because AFAIK, amber is required for turn signals now.

The headlight definitely seems like a lost cause unless I want to do the vapekit. Do you know any good non amazon sources for the halogen 6v and replacement lamp? Amazons not shipping til like may now, possibly even later.

Is the tail light supposed to be on when no brake is applied? I think thats a requirement now too, but dont recall it working that way on the enduro.

My new problem sticking 6v will be dealing with a flooded battery that craps out below 40ish degrees

Are there tricks to that? Or a better alternative? I have a brand new replacement but it still gooned out on me in the cold.

Ah it looks like red is also ok. I was told amber is required. But turn signals are required in ohio, unless old ones get grandfathered in.

Even if they arent, i already discovered that people dont understand the hand signals and just get mad and yell/honk at me... so forget that lol.

I know they teach handsignals even in regular driving school.... but nobody pays attention.

Yeah ive only gone on main roads a little because of my learner permit. Not supposed to go on congested roads so i have certain times where its ok.

Always ready to hop the damn curb because people are sketchy out there.

I had someone go around me at a stop sign.

And someone cut me off from the left turnlane!

I guess doing 30 in a 25 still wasnt good enough for them.

Definitely want more lighting.

Small update:

I went out and hooked the 6V battery to one of the blinkers.

The running light/brake light rings light up on 6V, but the blinker light doesn't.

... it does with the 12v battery though.

So, my new question is, is there a low enough wattage 12v halogen (or even LED) light I can use as a headlight to not have it eat the battery?

I de-crudded the old dead headlight and found that it is a 25w 6v bulb.

would a 12v 25-30ish watt bulb be OK? If so, maybe I can grab that and go ahead with things using the 12v regulator/rectifier and blinkers I already got, and just make sure to only use low wattage headlights?

or do we think it would be better to back track and use the OEM regulator and blinkers?

EDIT: Yknow once you get off of the LED headlight high and go look at regular lights, there's stuff! LOL

The 25w halogen one seems like it'd be the safest bet to not murder my battery. I lose the fancy LED wonders of the 83 watt light, but .... have a functioning light and battery. So it's a win/lose/win?

Has anyone used Octane Lighting enough to know if they're reliable? It looks to be a safe bet

Okay... sorry for the wait... high winds and stormy weather coming so I had to get a few things done outside today that took me longer than I expected. :Ugh

Found the lights and a 6v regulator.... sounds like you really want to go the 12v LED route though.

I'll PM you with some options.

PM sent. I already answered most of these questions in previous posts.. Yes, you can find a low enough wattage headlight.... 12 v 35w halogen is readily available... lower wattage LED's are available but then you have the (possible) issue of running headlight off battery.

Yeah sorry, its a lot to take in and keep sorted out between all the reading and googling.

It seems like if I switch to 12v I can still find a low enough wattage 12v bulb and still use these fancy blinkers I got and the overall point is to not use an LED headlight unless I want to kill the battery or install the power dynamo stuff.

Without the fancy blinkers I got though, I'm out a running light, and I need to figure out what to do about that. If there's some way to solve that in 6V land, I would go that route probably.
