Fluid leaking front motor mount? was created by Fewmarshall

I was just wondering if this was normal, the bike is a 1975 GT80, this is my first time removing the motor from the frame and so far i have only taken out the front motor mount. It leaked gas/oil out when I leaned the bike a bit. is this bolt hole open to the inner case? or should there not be fluid here

I just spent some time looking at photos of the case halves and I feel like this probably isn't normal! My guess is that the case halves are not sealed properly and are leaking? That would really suck :S

Sorry, not normal. :S

Might seal up good enough with bolt in and tight...

Pics first please before you get carried away. No gasket between the center cases but would be highly unusual to leak there. Not quite sure exactly where you mean but not just something like the crankcase is full of fuel due to a tap &/or carb problem & it's out into the exhaust & leaking out at the joint & running across the top of the case joint.

Here's a bigger engine with the same problem... had a bad air leak during pressure testing with engine out.

(Outlined soapy water bubble in blue below... hard to see in above photo)

With a bolt tightened in the hole, leak was reduced significantly.
