Where to get fork parts? was created by FrankC

Just wondering if anybody has a handle on getting the lower damper rod slider bushing. I have a 78 dt400 for which I need a couple. Would like to get heavier duty fork springs as well? Thanks brothers.

Hey Frank, I have some 78' 250 forks here. I think its the same part number as the 400. if you just want to swap out.
Gotta check on that.

Edit: yep, same part number. 1M1-23101-40-00

Yes, I sure am. Thank you for the offer. I am not prepared to jump on something just yet, I will need much more work coming up as it declined greatly during the Christmas season. But still I am wondering if anyone makes the slider bushing.

If you wouldn't mind holding those? I would love having the leading front axle.

I may be wrong here but putting on a leading axle front forks on a bike that didn't have it might goof up the steering geometry. The rake and trail dimension are figured in with the triple tree and clamp.
78 DT400 were not leading forks.
Maybe some others can chime in about this.
Thanks Mark

I would need the tripple clamps to use them. Well I do have a nice patina going on the old fork sliders. They sort of yellowed with age.

The triple clamps for the leading axle forks might alow the forks to hit your gas tank. I ran into this with my XT500. I have a set of leading axle forks from a later model and with the matching triple clamps the forks hit the gas tank. Looking at the gas tank for later model, it's shaped much different.

It was a nice thing for Rick to offer those 2 me. Thank you guys for the input. Will see how it goes. Rick just curious if those forks are 34 mm or 35? Might be worth adapting them if the tank clears.
