Is it an original European bike, or one originally from the US?
It would be great to see pictures of it, but you need to have made 3 posts before you can upload photos, and you have to use a third party hosting site for this.

Thanks for the warm welcome. This is more or less the reason for joining . I am not sure wether it is a European / German or import bike. The curious thing is that the engine and frame number is like RT2- 6007xx. I have no idea. Maybe it is even a RT3. BTW how can I differentiate between RT2 and RT3. Beside the color, is ther any other technical difference?
The bike itselve is almost done wirinig and a tail light bracket missing

From that number, it sounds like a European market RT3 from 1973 (the 1974 Euro DT360A had VIN starting RT2-7......).
The RT3 did have a 21" front wheel, and it might also have had a steering lock, which the RT2 didn't have.

Aaaaah, thats the missing piece. So I have a RT3. It has a steering lock. Thank you so much for that information. Its good and bad. Good that I know what i have, bad, that the tank already is painted.

Are you able to post photos?
We here in the UK no longer have access to Imgur, but Google photos or Photo Bucket might be ok.

A great improvement!
Yes, as I said, we have to use a third party host for photos. As it happens, I've just (hopefully!) posted a link to a random photo in my Google Photos album on another thread.
Have you tried searching for a Euro model parts and service manual for your bike? Something like this.
YAMAHA DT 1-F 2 3 DT250 RT 1-F 2 3 DT360 Repair shop manual Manuel d entretien | eBay.de
