I am just a guy raising a family that loves old cars and bikes. Glad to be here.
I Have what I believe is a 1969 AS2C. I plan to read the tech articles here and learn about my bike as I ride and enjoy it.

Hello from Vermont,
I’m a new member, but I’ve been benefiting from the advice on this forum for a while now. My project would be a long way from finished without this site. My project is a 71 DT1E. My great uncle bought it new from Golden Cycle of Hackensack NJ. His son ran it into a tree in 78, so it was given to my dad, who straightened the forks. Then it sat unused for about 25 yrs, though my sister and I spent hours sitting on it and pretending to drive when we were little. In high school I cleaned it up, replaced the points, and got it started, but never on the road. Now I’m out of engineering school, and I’ve finally been able to get it in shape and ride it. I wonder now why I didn’t do it sooner.

i started riding in the 60's-- triumphs, and bsa's. I started at 650 and in the 80 moved to H.D.'s. along the way i road a combat wombat [ my first (borrowed) trail bike. also a bultaco and a couple of others i can't remember exactly what but enjoyed them. in the 80's i way bequethed a mx100g yamaha which i rode extensively. after years of sitting in the back shed now its time for a rebuild. i bored it ,new piston and rings and am searching for knowledge and parts. i'm not really handy with a computer so this is a long drawn out process. i found this site by accident and have found the wealth of knowledge.i was looking for. hope fully this won't be my last small bike project.

Hi Everyone -

I recently joined the site. I"m an old retired guy but have had bikes almost all my teen and adult life. Honda step-thru's, 70's Yamaha and Suzuki enduro's, Honda 4-cyl streets, RD-400, V-twins, etc. Can't really remember all the bikes I've owned.

I just picked up a "shed find" 1969 CT1. Was on a property that had been purchased. New owner cleaning outbuildings. Was going to take it to the dump. My brother intervened and rescued it. It's a complete bike, but badly weathered.

I just started the strip down and have been accumulating parts. I"m going to see if I can get the engine running and get the bike rideable for around $500 USD. Then decide on a restoration strategy.

I'm in Northern California. Can anyone steer me to parts in the Sacramento-Chico area? I"m struggling with finding what I need on eBay. Any advice would be helpful!

Thanks in advance!!
