I have a 76 250 that looks like the kickstand broke off. I need a fix for this.

Any progress on this fabrication? I'd like to get my side stand sorted out this winter, if possible.

If you look at the docs for download in the right column of this page, you will see a template for such a bracket which may be a place to start.

IF it isn't one thing, it's another.

Hi Scott, did you ever make any more of these plates for the kickstand? I just got my hands on my dream bike as a child growing up a 74 DT 250 and its missing a kickstand. The plate is broke off at the weld.

Just make sure you get the angle right, my DT 360 that was welded was off a little bit. When the handlebars are turned to the right the bike tips over
Thanks Mark

Hello, I have to bring this up again,
as last week also my DT250 Side Stand Bracket broke -
cracked just through the middle of the hole...

The bracket is Obviously not too well engineered...

Could s/o kindly upload the missing pdf link for this bracket template?

Unfortunately the link and the pics in the post are dead...
Kind Rgds.
Edit..

I now managed to d/l the pics and the template on my wifes PC (my IMac didn’t do it...)
and I had a re- read of the whole post, and gladly found this promising post:

“AT6 DRIVER wrote: Terry- I was thinking that same idea. I think making the plate is one part but the pin that the spring attaches to needs to be fabricated as well. If I have a batch of these made up would not be much more work than doing a few for myself- I think I could use 3 or 4 myself. Maybe I could have a machine shop cut these up. I will start doing some checking around to see if I can get it done. I will need to make one sample and than verify it works than make more.
Scott”

Is there any progress on that production been made ?

I’d been over the moon if s/o could fabricate and sell this bracket for me,
as I do not have the needed machinery for this...

and right now I have to lean my beloved DT always against a wall - I need to get his fixed !

On a second thought ...

Do You believe its a good idea, to get a "simpler" Side stand (i.e. 1 piece only) instead of that chunky two parts/ safety Lever piece ? ... as the side stand really shouldn't be over-engineered /rocket science...

btw.- what's that purpose of the 2nd "relieve lever" - just to keep it in its position up there ?

... and still looking for a source for that broken bracket ... any tips appreciated ;-)

It sounds like someone has modified your side stand. Posting a picture of what you are working with would be helpful
