Thanks all got screws out, and quick clean up....
originally I was going to time the bike as it wasn't correct
I also was not getting a spark either....anyway its off
Where to I go from here is it just the case change all the
Parts and re solder or is it bit more of a dark art to do...
Any advice what I should do... also which screw is it to adjust the points when timing.... I think its the screw I had all the problems with... thought I'd give you all a update..
So need to re order the points screw and stator screw if anyone knows what the sizes are....im on nights at the hospital till wenesday so im hoping to start work on it then,
so have a few days to order parts...
So where is the point adjustment screw for timing??
shall I try and replace everything, points looms condenser
ect?? is there a specialist who refurbish them?? Not honestly
sure what to do..... apologies sound utter ridiculous I know....
cheers all

Good job getting those screws out. I posted earlier that the stator screws are M6 by 1.0. Not sure about the points screw, but you could probably take it to a hardware store and find a new one.

Good Man, ya got it off. There's no points screw for timing as such, or only on electric start 125's. You're only adjustment is by gap. & with timing right the gap should end up within 12-15 thou. If you get outside of that to get 1.8mm btdc timing then new points are due as the fiber heal will be worn down. In saying that they last very well with a drop of oil on the points cam & oil wick. I'm still on original points on my 1970 AT1. But doesn't get much use nowdays.

Far out still on original points, just shows they made
decent parts years ago, got picture of your AT1??
I added my  ...so I just put new point on...
so really  if I don't need to time it then its just putting it back together and see what
happens??... I found this slot on the shaft so my flywheel
will only go on one way I take it that this is correct??
hopefully new plug on, new ht lead, new plug cap, new coil,
cleaned up magneto, new points, should...I say should get a
spark????....

Sounds good & yep should spark. I'll find a pic of my AT1. Actual there a video somewhere people will be getting tired of seeing haha. But here goes again!!. Has a 175 top end on nowdays but clutch cover has never been off. Can't ever remember looking at the points in the last 50 years either. Serviced it at work, then the farmer traded it back in on a new one in about "72 & i bought it for dad for the dairy farm. So don't ever recall looking at the points after we bought it. Bloody slack mechanic me lol.
Sorry folks. Here's the video again of my AT1 for Turbotim.Yes i know i shouldn't rev it that hard but it's such a willing motor.

Turbotim i just realized i'm not sure what your bike is sorry. Got sidetracked & was thinking you had an AT1 looking at the mag plate--my fault. Can see its lots later looking at your last pic. Yes flywheel is keyed so can't get the timing too far wrong setting the points gap. Just be sure to tighten the flywheel 'good' when you have things sorted. Wouldn't worry about tight just spinning it looking for spark but, tight before running it.
