If that flywheel clears the case, you should be okay.

You have the earlier RT/DT ignition system.  I'm now curious about what bike you might have since I think you had a battery fitment problem too?  Are you sure it isn't an RT3?  Can you post a picture of the bike?

P.S.  Not a CT stator...  they had 2 holes, not 3.

Hi. just joined. My 74 DT 360 has always had points(15 yrs since I’ve owned it) I thought maybe the early ones had points? Maybe it’s a conversion I didn’t know about? Getting ready to bring in from shed to “get back to it” after a few years. Thanks guys( it’s always run fine)

Bike is pretty stripped but the three digits (446) on serial number identifies it as a DT3 bike from 1974 DT360A. My battery well is tiny but the correct Yuasa fit fine -

Interesting - I just assumed the 74 360 bikes all had the CDI setup

All 1974 DT360's did have CDI from the factory.  Many people have swapped to the 74-on DT250 points system to get away from a non-working and expensive to fix (if it can be fixed) original CDI.

I'm surprised you have the earlier RT3-type points setup in a DT360 engine.  All reports I've seen say that flywheel OD or inside of case needs machining for clearance.  Since you haven't posted relevant pictures of engine and OD of flywheel it's hard to say what has been done.

But if it fits, you should be fine.  Clean the points good, set the timing correctly, and it should run great for many, many years.

P.S.  Should be six magnets inside that flywheel for the three coil stator.

I fitted a DT250 points system to my 360 only change needed was to machine a step on outer edge of flywheel near to crankcase as the six studs for tthe barrel make this a necessary modification ......

Bill, do you remember what year your ignition came from?  Does it have the three coils on the stator or just two?  Thanks.

A slight wiring change will also be needed - DEET sells a "plug in and play" connection.
