Blocks are different sizes on different models... those ones from HVC may or may not fit.

Fuel line cut into short pieces works pretty good too.

^ thanks for the pictures!
My bike doesn’t seem to have any of those on it at all currently.

If you can post the dimensions that would be great that way I can compare to the HVC and see if they will work.

Thanks again

Not sure if this is what was asked to measure earlier in the thread

.102 mm Is the thickest that fits between piston and cylinder with that measurement

Nope... Feeler gauge goes in between the thrust side of the skirt (middle of the front or rear of the bottom of the piston) and the cylinder.... it's probably not going to be the thickness feeler gauge as what the measured clearance was.

.038mm barely goes in there
Hopefully that’s the correct place you mentioned

Also, looks like the head does have some of those rubber pieces in it.

When I got my top end vapour blasted I replaced the sound dampeners with some silicone "rope" cheap as chips and cut to size:

Yup, you got it... that's the way you measure with the feeler gauge... Feeler gauge always is smaller than the actual clearance by a thou or two so that supports your measurements. You don't have excessive clearance... I've had engines where I can fit a 0.004" or 0.005" feeler gauge that were noisy but ran great... when you get up to that much clearance it needs boring and a stock piston is in danger of breaking.

Wiseco piston won't break like a stock one will.

And like I said, it sounds kind of normal to me factoring in that microphones tend to enhance the sound and make it sound worse...

If lower end of rod is okay... make sure piston pin and bearing don't have noticeable play... and everything should be good.

P.S. I'm not good at diagnosing sounds on video... Maybe Enduronut will see yours and comment on the noise?

Here's the dimensions of the stock rubber blocks. I didn't remove to measure the thickness, but they were around 1-2 mm more than the gap between the fins. Some were an easy push fit but others were pretty fast once flush with the outside of the fins.

Thanks for those measurement.

I did get a new piston pin and bearing for when I put it all back together just to rule that out.

I’m also going to do an air leak when I get it running which I didn’t do before.

As you said hopefully enduronut will see the video and comment.

Thanks all for the help
