1978 DT175 Flywheel/rotor nut thread was created by MikeK-uk
Good day all,
I’ve got my NOS source coil (previous thread refers) and want to fit it.
Before I hurt myself or break something… the 19mm flywheel/rotor nut… left or right hand thread?!
Many thanks,
Mike

P.S. Threads for the proper puller are 27 x 1.0 LH. Very common tool.. don't try to pull flywheel without the correct puller.

Well that was all very tight. The female thread was fubar before my proper tool touched it. Managed to jam it in destroying the thread in the flywheel even more and my tool. Not very pretty / proper, but I got it off. I’ve ordered a tap in the hope I can clean the thread up in case the flywheel needs to come off again one day.

Important to pull the two washers flat & spring from behind the nut so the fine thread puller gets fully home. Now correct me if I'm misunderstanding but have you ordered a tap for the flywheel fine thread 27x1 LH. Be nice to know where to get one. Cheers.

The puller only went in maybe a quarter to half a turn. I think I was flipping lucky the flywheel moved before the threads ripped out.
There are a few taps on google. I ordered a cheap one off Amazon. I couldn’t justify hundreds of dollars that professional taps cost for a one off repair. Hopefully it will do at least one job before breaking.
I was going to copy the link but it won’t copy. Just google M27 x 1 left hand thread and you should get a few hits.
