...to what my DT3 carb "should" be. No carb came with this Sad DT3. The purpose of this exercise is, will it run? There's no chain on it, and I don't plan to ride it at this point. Just want to hear it run, since all my garage Enduro dollars are wrapped up in this house we just moved into (for the time being).

Kudo's to you Apex! I feel than anyone who does their best to restore any vintage bikes to their previous glory deserves a sainthood.

Well Apex you'll have to change the title of the thread now to" Not sad anymore DT3.
Great stuff that you got it to run.
I would just like to give some info here on cleaning coils up.
You can buy electrical insulating varnish from suppliers or ebay relatively cheap. It lasts for an age .
I have reproofed several coils after cleaning them up and then you have no problem. You can also but the white fabric insulation that shrouds the copper wire cheaply. The fibre tape however , is expensive but you can make your own with the varnish and plaster board jointing mesh.
Regards Dave

Thanks all. Yes it's Not Too Sad anymore. But, what next? Just poked around eBay a little bit, and some of the key items missing, like the tank, carb., those are hard to come by as cheaply as they used to be! WOW! And scarce, eBay used to be loaded with these parts, guess guys are holding on to their parts? Carb for $160, RT3 tank $161.

Why do we always mention to check your brakes? This is the not as Sad DT3 rear brakes when I pulled the brake plate off.
