It's always a surprise when nothing goes wrong painting. A few hairs blowing around but no biggie. Look for the correct clear tomorrow. Base coat looks good.

A lot of time today wet sanding with 1000 - 1500. Polished out and was not satisfied, so just a bit more work to remove orange peel and get some fine details covered. Polished again and applied Chemical Guys Butter Wet Wax as a finish. It is near 85% where I expected to be on a dirt bike. Now, I give myself a break, before re-routing the clutch cable and reassembly. A lot of arms and shoulders today....

Is your clear coat fuel resistant? I do like the red color.

Yes, the base coat is Lacquer, and the clear coat is a 2 part mix with the activator, which is for the most part harder than anything without.

Wow, this day will be remembered for many years - after being complemented by a Legend in the Yamaha Enduro community ...

Thank you so much for the compliment I am very humbled by it.

I need to make a decision here. I am at about 2.0 hrs. per side without removing the cases. If I have to drain the oil and remove both side cases to finish all of the detail work, I think that I'm going to be at 9 hours total and maybe some gaskets?

Probably, will give it a few days and knock it out on the weekend.
