Presumably the standard length chain can accommodate the larger sprocket? 

I had just put a new standard length chain on before I installed the 17 tooth sprocket, and it worked perfectly. I had to back off the adjustment almost all the way, but 3 years later, as the new chain stretched slightly, I've adjusted it several times so it would have the proper slack.
