That foam should definitely help! Great idea!

(If not, you have some ideas for a bracket.)

It's likely the bracket was added to later switches and of course the new ones like the one pictured from CMSNL... Your CT1-C was the first CT model that had the switch up by the gauges.

Maybe it's just an early CT-1C that didn't have the bracket? In any case, the foam is working well. Also helps seal off the connections from the salt air around here.
