Extraordinary find! That is a testament to the many hours of the previous owners life spent keeping it in fine fettle.

I am the same with my bikes. The missus has strict instructions that my bikes will not be given to my stepson, who will just sell them on, they are to go to one of my old apprentices who will cherish them.

So many good bikes have been given to hopeful grandkids who did not know or care what they were and trashed them.

Cleaned out the tank.
Cleaned the carb.
New fuel lines and filter.
Cleaned the air filter.
Changed the trans oil.
Fixed a kinked throttle cable.
Fresh premix.
3rd kick fired up.
Clutch is stuck but I rolled it into gear and road it for about 15 minutes and it wouldn't free up. But I can breath easy now. It runs good and shifts thru the gears.

My beautiful gas tank has let loose on the bottom right side. Such a pity, as it is nearly perfect on the outside. I used evaporust and shook it with abrasives added. Oh well. It had to be cleaned before use. I am going to try the dreaded coating and cross my fingers. My DT400B has a coated tank from the PO and has held up for many years. I'll have to read up on what brand works best. I guess I couldn't expect it to be perfect!
