Wish me luck! was created by Schu

Wish me luck fellas. I found out about this bike from an old coworker that I bought my DT250B from. So I am working thru him as a middleman, and that sucks. But so be it. I made an offer that’s being considered. Original owner, with clear title. He said “Let me see if I can get it started”. I told him my offer is good just the way it sits. No need to start it or clean it up. I can come pick it up tomorrow. He said “I won’t be home tomorrow”. I said how about Sunday?

No response….And now I wait….

Best of luck. I do envy the US. You seem to have an almost limitless supply of untouched "barnfinds" tucked away in sheds and garages.

I never, ever came across one here in the UK and if I did, the assumption would be that because it is old it is very valuable, thanks in the main to inplausible UK tv shows where a person buys an old classic bike that has been stood 40 years; spends £3.50 on a new plug, plus a gallon of fresh petrol, gets it running like a dream and roadworthy before sunset.

A quick polish and it is sold to a mate for a £3000 profit by suppertime.

"A nice little earner".

And people actually believe it. They think that old, rusty, Mobylette moped tucked in the back of the shed is worth 1000s.

I have a good friend that just bought one of these for $150.00 with original title. Looks to be about the same condition as this one. Very complete bike. Was not listed for sale which is a good thing. There out there, just hard to get to them fast enough.

Good luck in getting it.

Good luck, bike looks in straight original condition, just the way we like them.

I'm still working on this purchase. Dealing direct with no middle man. Turns out the original owner was his wife's brother who passed away a few years ago. The bike was then given to his wife. The current owner used to ride, but that was before he was married and now has several kids and a new home, so they haven't touched the bike since the day it was given to them. If his wife okays my offer it comes home to join the herd in my barn.

I have my boys on standby to go pick it up at a moments notice because I am quarantined with covid......

Still not a sealed deal. But getting close.

Edit
I am not trying to scam these people. I made a fair offer. I don't like taking advantage of people if they don't know the value of something. I just wasn't raised that way.

She accepted my offer on her late brothers bike. I asked if I could pick it up this evening, but they said they had kids to get in bed. I am scheduled to pick it up on Saturday. The best part is that I was able to get it without exceeding my personal limit that I set for each bike when I started playing this game. I try and keep them under $1,000 dollars, so that is what I offered. I supposed it’s not a done deal until it’s in my barn, but they seem to be straight up people and I’m pretty good at rating sellers. More pictures to follow soon I hope.

Edit
To keep a clear conscience, I shared the attached photo with them.
