A friend is looking at a rough CT1 that was sitting outside in desert for 20 years. Frame, case, and original sticker numbers matching with s/n 09025# which puts it and of CT1 series.  That said, I think the sticker reads 3/72, and the bike is the dark candy red color with CT2 tank, reed valve, torque induction oil tank.  Head/cyl/side covers and carb are CT2.  High starter switch.
Thanks for any info.
Regards,
Joe M

That number is for a CT2 (if I've read the VIN table correctly!).

Forgot to mention the numbers (Frame stamp, faded sticker, engine stamp) all are stamped CT1 - 09025x (x = a real number). In the AT1-CT1 parts list .pdf (in site docs) this number is a CT1C number (up to 200101) and Orange color. Some errors somewhere?

All USA 175's from 1969 to 1973 had a CT1 prefix.  The "200101" range of numbers you're referencing belongs only to the special "close ratio transmission" 1971 CT1c model...  the "2" at the start sets it apart from the standard CT1c that year.

CT1-065101 to 098830 was the range for the CT2 model.

VIN tables can be found in the Tech Library
1963 YG1-T, 1965 MG1-T, Allstate 250, 1970 CT1b, 1971 R5, 1973 AT3MX, 1974 TS400L, 1975 RD350, 1976 DT175C, 1976 Husqvarna 250CR, 1981 DT175G, 1988 DT50, 1990 "Super" DT50, 1991 RT180, 2017 XT250

Ok Guys - Thanks for explanation re. the VIN table. Also implies there were ~8,500 red 175's made after this one for '72.

CT3 were still CT1 numbers till the end? then the A models came from "74 with a total design change. Just sayin.
