Suzuki model code list? was created by Gr8uncleal

Does anyone know if there is a published Suzuki model code list (not to be confused with the year suffix code), similar to the Yamaha ones that are in the Tech Library here? I have seen random examples of what model certain codes stamped on carbs relate to, so some sort of model coding was used, but no comprehensive schedule.

Thanks.

I have heard such a list exists for Suzuki carburetors.  I have never seen it.

You might send a PM to Enduronut?  I seem to remember he would sometimes identify a Suzuki carb by number.

This was all TEXT data, obtained from an internet search.  Never was an img, I made it one.  It was not directly from Suzuki.  It was not verified
Hope this helps.  Was interesting because not long ago I had a suspected carb I couldn't ID.

Replied by Gr8uncleal on topic Suzuki model code list?

Thanks Paul.

This is very useful and a good starting point for researching part numbers/fitment.

In my case, I recently bought a 1980 US import GS750E (it was called the GSX750 over here, the first model with the GSX prefix).

Usual story, bike would run on spray but not petrol, so carbs needed to come off to clean the pilot jets etc. As I hadn't stripped a bank of four carbs before, I indulged myself and bought a decent looking set from Germany, supposedly for a GSX750, to a) practice on and b) use as spares as necessary.

The Suzuki service manual states that 45410 should be stamped on my carbs, and the part number for the carbs is 13200-45410. However, the carbs that I got from Germany have 47170 stamped on them. As Suzuki, like other manufacturers, use the same code for a specific part, I was able to type in 13200-471 to CMSNL to see what comes up. What comes up is the carbs from Germany are for a GS550 model of some sort!

This ties in nicely with the first two numbers of the model codes in your schedule (ie 45 and 47), and presumably the third number starts at 0 for the first year model, and then changes to 1, 2 etc for subsequent models.

Both sets of my carb bodies look to be the same so, if necessary, hopefully I can mix and match the good, correct parts.

Thanks again, I really appreciate this.

some more stuff that popped up. I know I saw a reference to the 471 and GS550 (exactly as you stated) in there somewhere, even though following doc shows a little different.  That must be some fun bike.
