AT3 black paint finishes was created by gunship09

This is my first post on here. My name is Martin Broodbank and I currently have a Yamaha YAS1, Suzuki T125 Stinger, and a Yamaha AT3. I live in the UK and I am 65 yrs and retired.
I am restoring my AT3 and am getting the frame etc. powder coated gloss black. I am going to do the other black tinware myself.
My question is, what parts are not gloss black, but satin?
Sorry if this has been covered before.
The parts I am not sure about include the following:-
Brake pedal
Air filter box and lid
Lower chain guard
Speedo/tacho mount bracket
Battery box
Tool box and lid

Thanks for any help.

Martin and glad you decided to join.

As well as, hopefully, getting an answer to your question re paint, check out the Tech Library (see top toolbar) for various downloads.

If you want to post any photos here, then you'll need to use a third party host such as Imgur.

I personally painted all those the same gloss black as I did the frame on my DT400, don't know if that's correct but then I'm not going for factory concourse restoration.

Welcome!
If going for "original finish", the frame was not powder coated.

My recollection is the parts you are describing had the same finish as the frame.  I'm not a "concours" expert though some here are and will hopefully respond.  (But since you are powder coating the frame, might as well do what you think looks best?)

The one thing I remember reading from experts many times is the fenders (and silver paint on engine side covers on earlier models) was more of a matte finish and not gloss originally.

Some nice clear pics of an unmolested, original example in this blog.

Thanks to everyone for their input.
The photos are excellent. Difficult to tell paint finishes, but the photos will help with the rebuild as there is always something that you dont note down or photograph before you tear the bike apart. Still not clear on the rear brake lever.

A lot of your questions could be answered by referencing the various part numbers .
Gloss Black components have a -33 suffix to the part number .

Great advice Swoop! While it might not be a 100% answer for every part due to Yamaha... ummm... "inconsistencies"... using the part numbers as a guide is the best answer.

Agreed, and I thought about suggesting it. However, not all part numbers/manuals I checked out had the suffix for the colour/finish.
