Might be cheaper and more secure to find a float bowl that is complete, or buy one of those Chinese knock-offs and use only the float bowl offa it. Course, that means you have to trust their starter jet. Everything else would be just fine, I'd think, since all you'd be using would be the bowl. Free spare gasket and rubber O-ring, too.

I have a big box of carb parts... I will look to see if I can find a bowl if you end up needing one.

Stainless steel ball would be easier to find and would work too.

I just bought some brass bearings off Amazon for $6. I will have 49 left over!!

From what I was able to measure the hole is 4mm and I order 4mm bearings. I will see if that will stay in with a little help. My concern is that I crack the bowl if I go any bit too big, should have those available for the weekend.

MarkT... I hope that I can get this all taken care of this weekend. Let me know if you find a bowl.. I may reach out to you. If you find one will you post a picture of how yours is capped?

I'm not sure whether the ball / plug absolutely needs to be brass .
An appropriately sized ball bearing may suffice . Despite everything else on these bikes being metric ,
the ball bearings used are imperial sized , usually 3/16 or 5 / 32 .
JB Weld might be handy to hold it in place , though I wonder how that might stand up in contact with
fuel .

Just tap a few turns of thread in there with a short screw & fiber washer.

Well... one 4mm brass ball bearing, a few taps of the hammer and some JB Weld for a little more security. This should work!!

Thanks for all your help!
