Bassani Spark Arrestor was created by Schu
I picked this up on EBay for cheap. I love Bassani pipes and own four of them. However, I am not sure how this is intended to fit. I am assuming that it might be sized to slip over the outlet end of the common Bassani pipe and then clamp to the O.D. using the band clamp. Regardless, I thought it was cool and I’m pretty sure it’s a rare item having never seen one. Hopefully I can send photos next week showing how it fits on my 125B with its Bassani pipe.

Bassani didn't have spark arrestors in their pipes as most aftermarket didn't.
In the later 1970's where I lived, they started looking for spark arrestors... A friend even got a ticket with his bike in the back of his truck... officer wrote him up because he had a (California) "green sticker" on the bike and that required an approved spark arrestor.
I believe the "Snuffit" was Bassani's add-on solution to the problem?

This red/green sticker mess is out of control at times. When I ride in Cal on Fed land, I can ride red sticker, but have been checked for arrestor w/kote hanger. When I ride in Calif, I get checked for sticker on entry, sound randomly and arrestor randomly. At the same place, if I move to the MX track (Hangtown), then I can ride red sticker, no arrestor, no sound checks.
One of my friends got busted for crossing the street in Auburn. Game warden or whatever he was told him no riding on street. Friend lauches bike off hill airborne across road. ahhahahahahhahahahah.

Red stickers came much later in Calif. First there was the "orange sticker" that gave you the right to transport your bike (on a trailer or in back of truck, etc) to a closed course competition event or track. No spark arrestor needed. Trail riding was not allowed at all with an orange sticker bike... even if you installed a spark arrestor. Orange meant "Closed course competition only". Eventually they came up with the red sticker that allowed the "more competition oriented" bikes to use the trails certain months of the year if equipped properly.
The thing about the "transporting" is mildly interesting too... California used to (and still might) require license and registration for most vehicles transported "on or OVER" public roads.... so if you buy an unregistered vehicle, load it on a trailer, and tow it home the DMV may hit you with fines and fees even if the tires never touched a public street.

They don't call it CommiFornia for nothing. Lucky me. Life was good. I lived in a fairly easy to ride area as a youngster.
You are correct about the transporting issue. DMV requires you to register your vehicle (IE, PAY FEES) or get a permit each time you transport it. I have a automobile I trailer. No plates at all, BUT its registered just so I can trailer it across the over-regulated, fee happy state I live in...FOR NOW.

Thank goodness I live in the great state of Tennessee no problems here on trailered cars or open chambers on dirt bikes and straight pipes on Harleys

Wow that SA is really nice. I have Bassani just like yours. I put a Supertrapp style SA on and it wants to fall off when I go off road. Ended up running the stock pipe until I can find something better. Really nice MC. looks beautiful.
FYI I found an interesting riding area in SoCal that is about 50 miles from the San Gabriel Valley area. I start right at the Summit Inn sign at the top of the Cajon Pass. Google the Summit Inn sign on Google maps. It connects to the Baldy Mesa OHV area. A rough dirt trail that leads to 138. I rode it on my mighty 2001 Suzuki DR200. It was ~32 miles round trip. I tried it on my CT1 but I was having trouble with the carb mounting screws backing out when riding kind of hard.... so I DNFed. Gonna try some lock tight on those screws.
