Ok bad idea putting the 6v18w bulbs back in that made them flash even faster with the bike off. I was thinking it would have the opposite affect for some reason. Lesson learned keep the 6v8w bulbs in the blinkers. At this point ill try sanding the grounding spots again where the handle bars attach to the tree/frame and hope that does it otherwise ill take a stab at fixing the original. Unless anyone has any ideas for me to try in the mean time?

Get a new flasher.  The one you have could have been junk in the first place.  A good modern flasher will work with either bulbs.

Mark i sent you a PM for the one ive got my eye on. I dont want to buy a cheap piece of junk that dont work. Let me know your thoughts on that otherwise ill take HT1 kids advice and swing into Napa later this week to see what they have. At least the bike is running strong now and im gaining more trust using the oil injection.

It used to bother me that many of the posts here have been "archived" lately.  I'm not sure it matters much though.  A "snapchat" format would work just as well.

Ebay flasher link

I have no experience with that part and unfortunately Chinese parts and sellers are a crapshoot.  Link posted so maybe someone has bought that one can tell you their experience.  Pobit used to have a good one but he's not selling them anymore last times I've checked. (Ebay blocked hotlinking which is why you can't do it here anymore, have to use the "insert link" option)

A few years ago I bought 5 6v flashers for $4 shipped from China.  (Yes, shipped)  3 of them worked.  One even beeps when flashing.  They are not all identical which is the oddest thing.

If I were to look for a flasher these days, I'd get one rated for LED's.  As HT1 kid already mentioned, Skydancer did a recent thread on that.

I found skydancers post and im going to order the same relay he did. Says you can use that relay for the original bulbs so ill give that a shot, i dont mind not having LED at least for now.
On a side note i cleaned out that check ball on the oil injection pump and its still pushing oil through after im done riding. I unhook the line and let it drip into a cup. Its not a lot but enough to cause hard starting the next day. Im thinking maybe i need to stretch or replace that spring to apply more pressure to the ball.

Finally got my fast blinking issues solved. After checking out skydance's post about changing over to LED i bought the same flasher relay he did, hooked up the brown wire to X, brown and white wire went to the L and lastly the black wire from the harness plugs into the black wire from the relay leaving the P prong on the relay "blank". works fantastic now. Only issue left now is the oil pump, pumping oil into the carb when i shut the bike off. Ill order a new spring and ball in hopes of that solving that issue.
