Wasted cash on bad brakes was created by msavitt

I just tossed 3rd set of banana peel brake shoes in the trash.

The only ones I’ve found that are any good - and I am sure there are more - are Yamaha genuine, EBC, Ferodo.

Ones I’ve had to toss into trash for self preservation include celox and 2fastmoto.

I've got a set of 2FastMoto on my CT-1 front, and they're working fine. What problem were you having?

I only use genuine Yamaha shoes on front and Yamaha or Vesrah for the rears. I won't use the Vesrah on front. No luck with others.

Tom P - the 2Fast shoes, even with proper adjustment and a few hundred miles on them, have no bite and honestly are just too dangerous. The Italian ones were night and day. Same with celox...tossed and put Vesrah on and same startling change.

I ended up fitting EBCs to the 400 C, very dissapointed to start with but after they bedded in they seem fine.
I bedded mine in by doing about 10 runs up to about 40 MPH and then stopping with front only, then back only, leaving a few minutes in between for them to cool down.
I then took it up to 50 ish MPH and repeated the cycle, takes a while but the results were good.
As I say they work pretty good and seem to keep improving with mileage as you would expect.
Is it a bedding in issue or are they just crap linings ?

I have about 1,600 miles on my 2Fast front shoes and they're fine. No issues stopping. I have SOK shoes on the back.

Msavitt, which bike are these on? Maybe the way we ride makes a difference as well. I don't like front brakes to be too grabby, and downshift a lot. With the shoes I have I can make emergency stops quickly on my CT-1, but maybe on a heavier bike they would be less effective? They have water slots, so a bit less effective surface area.

One set went onto a Dt400E front, the other front of an R5C
I do not see this a matter of riding style, adjustment, bedding, all though those are valid factors for sure. In these cases its night and day difference between the ones that work and the one's that don't, the only variable is the low-quality friction material.

I am over the cash, having tossed them in the trash. I highlighted this so others don't waste hard earned cash junk that cannot be returned once used.
