I love how it sounds personally but don't know how to determine how much rattle adds character and how much means it is time to rebore.

Unscientifically speaking my half deaf hearing says it sounds just like my DT1 that had a bore in spec that I lightly honed and fit with new rings!

So if you can get this to idle properly, correct jets (trust me - don't assume), no run away, no ping, good plug read and your yamalube is putting out properly, then personally I would ride it and have some fun.
