What a difference 50 years makes. was created by 1971DT250

Just a random thought here. I had a new 1971 DT1 - E when I was 16. When I brought it home me and my buddies looked it over closely and marveled at the features, quality, fit and finish as well as the performance.

My son brought home a new 2021 YZ250F yesterday. Again we looked it over closely and marveled at the features, quality, fit and finish as well as the performance. Incredible difference.

Looking forward to the 2071 Yamaha 250.
The hours spent riding my Enduros is not deducted from my life span.

If that's what you meant above we'll be pretty old by then lol--124 in my case lol. But yes it's pretty amazing & interesting how they've evolved over 50 years.

I like the modern reverse cylinder engine on the Yam enduros.
I also like how simple bikes used to be.

Thanks Yamaha for many happy days as a result of your bikes.  I have truly enjoyed riding and working on these bikes.  Back in the 70s when I got my first DT125 and now with my new R1.  The dependability of the new bikes is really good. Geez, my R1 has traction control, wheelie control, and even lateral slide control, anti-lock braking and 200hp to humble just about any rollling motor vehicle.

Yamaha had to stop making parts to get us to buy new bikes!  The old ones were that good

74 DT 360 ... resto in progress.
