Replacing oil pump throttle cable was created by kwzl1

Hi, purchased an NOS throttle cable to the oil pump on my 1975 DT175. My question is how to remove the old cable from where it goes into the splitter tube. I disconnected it from the white plastic slider in the tube, and assumed the cable assembly would just come out the bottom of the tube. Yet when I pull on the cable housing, it won't budge. (I can turn it easily, it just doesn't come out). What holds it into the bottom of the tube? I don't want to break it by pulling on it. Thanks for any help.

Picture might help... some kind of snap in. But I might not be the person to answer as I've broken the splitter housing. :Ugh

As Mark says, picture would help. However, with some, you prise off the cap of the connector tube at the top, push the two cables up until the disc appears and then unhook them from the cutaways in the disc.

It's a lot easier when the cable is off the bike completely.

Thanks all for your responses. I got it fixed. The fitting on the end of the cable sheath has a groove in it that snaps into the bottom of the splitter. I warmed up the part (wife's hair dryer), then gave a firm pull, and it popped out. Immediately plugged the new one in and it popped into place.
The new single cable I had purchased was an NOS Yamaha part, with the part number printed on it (443-26312-02), so apparently at one time you could get just the oil pump cable. (The whole assy in parts diagrams is 443-26312-01).
