Hi guys

Its been years and I cant remember what I ordered, I do remember ordering 2 different DT pistons, the first was the wrong dimensions, and the second matches the CT175 piston dimensions except it has larger piston windows.

I didnt write anything down and I cant remember, i'd like to avoid buying a useless piston a second time.

I want whatever has the biggest piston windows.

the piston height is 67mm including crown or about 63mm to top of edge
the top of the pin bore to the piston crown is 26mm

All 175 piston are the same height up to 1981, 1982< pistons have a taller crown. The only differences from1969-81 are the window dimensions. Blaster pistons will fit if you trim the skirt.

IT175 piston won't work due to the location of the ring end gap locating pins... which my post where the pictures were taken from explained.

I also never said 1982-on was different in that other post. I said that in the USA the last model we had was 1981 and that compression height is the same to 1981... I have no concrete knowledge past that. Which is not the same as saying a change was made in 1982. My guess is the piston was the same for at least a few years after 1981 if you are lucky enough to live in a country that had DT175's longer than we did... a "K" would be at least 1984 if the letter codes were used but could have been much later.

(I'm not 100% sure on the TKRJ DT175 info and letter codes because of previous experience with TKRJ and the fact that DT175 was produced for decades in other countries and the letters were reused... a "K" or "L" might be a 1990's or 2000's model... and probably is)

A Blaster piston is a Blaster piston in the USA. Again, not sure about other countries? Take a look at the ring pin locations I've marked in the photos and make sure your cylinder doesn't have transfer ports in those places.

Also the piston to the far right in my picture is a Wiseco for the 78-81 monoshock DT175. The OEM Yamaha version has bigger windows.

Ok, i'm probably way behind on the story but CT1 has no windows so i'm guessing you have a CT2 or 3 to be looking at later pistons.

I have an AG, with A DT piston with big windows but Icant remember which piston I bought, I am confused cos i bought the wrong one, but perhaps it was jut an ebay listing issue seeing as it seems like all pre 80 DT's should fit!

I was able to verify to 82< 175 pistons were taller. This how I ended up with a taller piston, it was actually for 82 and later.
