are the spark plug leads replaceable without changing coil 1970s CT/DT etc

hey guys

I havent tried but are the spark plug leads on the CT175 and early DT175 replaceable? can I unscrew them oror are they bonded to the coil?

Have to see the coil. Some do unscrew, some don't. Usually pretty easy to tell if bonded.

I'm not even sure exactly what bikes you're talking about... early CT in the USA had a sort of threaded cap around the wire like the RD350... cap comes off and then wire unscrews.

I also understand lazy... :whistle:

What I'd do is search ebay for the coil... select "used" in the filters... and then look at the pictures of the used parts for sale... a few different types of coils might come up because someone could have swapped parts or sellers get confused... but usually not too hard to decide which type is original unless there are only one or two listings... worth a try.
