1972 CT2 175 yamaha oil pump was created by osageorange8

I just rebuilt this bike and started right up, but i have the oil line disconnected right below the head to make sure oil was coming out.
Well nothing came out. I was thinking about rebuilding that, but in the meantime just so i can confirm everything else works can i use a mix gas in the tank?

Short answer Yes can premix. With the pump it has a bleed screw in the side with a fiber washer. Let that flow just to be sure the pump is getting oil from oil tank. Then refit the screw & hold the pump cable out of the adjuster to increase the pump stroke then revolve the plastic wheel on the pump & oil "should" come out the line to the cylinder. At minimum stroke with cable back in its place the oil is pretty minimal that you'll see coming from the line to cylinder. If you run it with that cylinder hole plugged you'll get a better look at whats coming from the line. Hold the line up in the air & should see it pulsing minutely in the fitting on the top of the line. Also at minimum stroke you should see about 20 thou maximum movement of the end plate on the pump shaft--should see some movement & relates to the pulse of oil appearing at the union on top of the cylinder line. At maximum stroke with cable pulled you could drive a horse & cart in the gap--guessing 80 thou, but lots anyway. If ya worried i think its DEET on here that's the pump man--everything man!!.
