Made some side-containers for my DT175 was created by Yamahamadingdong

I wanted to have some containers that were lockable on my Enduro. Mainly so when I go to a store or something, I can lock my gloves/etc. up and not walk around looking like an extra on Mad Max.

Since it's a smaller bike, stuff I looked at on various sites was too big. Even if it did fit, some of it was so expensive it seemed insane (500$!).

I accidentally came across these ammo-can mounts meant for a Jeep or other ORV. They came in 30 cal size.

So, I grabbed them, made a bracket out of some steel and pipeclamps... and slapped two watertight / sealed ammo cans on the back, with same-key locks!

I got the mounts here:
www.swagoffroad.com/SWAG-30-Cal-Ammo-Can-Mount-Only_p_114.html

any 30 cal ammo can fits. I picked Magnum brand ones that came in black, to match.

The bracket isn't perfect since I am by no means a metal expert, but it was pretty cheap and doesn't harm the body of the bike. Bolts + Clamps + metal sheets cost about 8$ total.

The cans themselves were about 60, and the mounts were about 100, so, under 200$ total!

It's a LITTLE noisy when you ride, but the thing is noisy anyways so oh well. I want to put some foam or rubber between the clamps and the actual rack to help with that. I probably should have squeezed the clamps before drilling and mounting, but it's too late now!

A little strip of rubber should solve the issue so it's ok!

I plan to mount some extra blinkers on the mounts as well. Half because of added visibility, and half because having the word "SWAG" on there is kind of lame....

my friends in Japan laughed and said it looks like a postal delivery bike now. I took it as a compliment.

That's awesome and looks great. I had larger ammo boxes mounted to my Norton Commando years ago, they're an excellent substitute for the purpose made hard luggage.

Here is a set for the really long rides.

The hours spent riding my Enduros is not deducted from my life span.

A good canvas man could turn that rig into a pop-up camper. Probably sleep two.
