I’ve used Evaporust for many things mostly cycle related. It doesn’t harm chrome or rubber. It will blister paint if left long enough. My opinion on that stator: The backing plate is magnesium or aluminum and doesn’t rust. The coils are wraps of copper wire with insulation between each layer. The copper won’t rust and introducing a chemical into the insulation could destroy them. So really just the small carbon steel parts will rust. It’s really tempting to drop a part into a bucket of Evaporust but those coils may not survive. Be careful if you clean them mechanically because of that insulation between the wires. You can see how tightly they are wound and so it is important that the insulation is intact So no shorts. Long winded there...sorry about that!
