1979 DT100 Autolube Delete was created by pennazj

I recently purchased a '79 dt100 in really rough shape from this dude in the middle of nowhere Wisconsin, and I have been hoping to get it running again. I have been wondering whether or not to remove the autolube system and run premix. Currently, the oil reservoir has a pretty large crack in the top of it and I'm having a hard time finding a replacement, not to mention I have no way of knowing if the pump itself is functional to begin with. If I were to go through with removing this system, could someone outline how exactly I would do it for this particular bike? Thanks.

There's a couple of ways you could do it. Think what i'd do for an easy fix & leave the cable on to help the throttle return--is-- cap the pump where the line goes in & take the oil tank of if you want. Then pull the pin that makes the cable wheel ramp back away so the spring return will push the cable wheel up & stop any pump stroke. The premix & ride off into the sunset--if ya lights work. With the cable unhooked from the cable wheel thingy i think the throttle will be too light--or fit a heavier slide spring. So that's one idea but others will probably come up with more sensible ones lol.
I've got some new clutch plates from ebay china a few years ago which didn't fit my old yamy 100 farm bike i'd gladly give away but freight to you from NZ down under would be way out of kilter. Cheers.
