Yamabond, Hondabond, Three Bond was created by johninga

Does anyone have a listing and / or cross reference to the different grades of Yamabond, Hondabond and Three Bond?
What is the difference in the #'s (Yamabond 4, for example) I often see related to the products. What are the specific uses for each? Curious minds want to know.

Tall order there John. Tech info or recommendations?
There is something on adv rider about this.

I will be using Threebond 1184 in the morning . I do have both Yamabond and Threebond 1194, but the bike owner wants
," FRESH stuff."
They may have stopped production on Threebond 1194. all I could find was 1184.
Ok, I didn't buy it, the owner got that when we went looking .
I do like the 1184 just because it blends in with the Aluminum cases color and is alot less prominent than either Yamahabond or 1194.
Also 1184 seals GREAT !!! ( see the Greenie thread where I have to replace a shift drum bearing ...tomorrow. when the darn part ever gets here !
Did the case split tonight and I am kind digging on the 1184. Works perfectly, hides and splits Great !!

Yamabond 4 is "semi-drying" and normally used for case halves where there is no gasket.

Yamabond 5 is "drying type" and usually recommended for side covers, etc.

Threebond makes a great line of products too... their website has a ton of info. threebond.com/

I've been using Permatex Motoseal 1 the last few years instead of Yamabond or Threebond. Seems to work great and the big advantage is most auto parts stores have it on the shelf.

I have Hondabond 4 and plan to use it. It remains flexible and is silver colored. I just see so much discussion about sealers and I am interested in knowing the advantages / disadvantages / similarities of them.
